This book was on reserve for an entire school year at Saints Peter & Paul Elementary School in the town where I grew up. Our class had a real communal experience that centered around this book. 1983, a bunch of eight and nine year olds hovering above a book of poetry clammering for a turn to read a poem aloud to the group.
